Inside nature's giants.
1) Burmese python - Giant Burmese pythons are thriving in the Florida Everglades. The team meet the python hunters, dissect a nine-foot male and make an amazing discovery in a 14-foot female.
2) Crocodiles - Veterinary scientist Mark Evans joins experts in anatomy, evolution and behaviour to find out how crocodiles are able to digest large chunks of raw meat and bone. Although the creatures' teeth are perfect for gripping prey, they are useless for chewing, meaning food is often swallowed whole. As the team dissects one of the reptiles, a unique plumbing system is revealed that might provide the key to the puzzle.
4) Giraffes - How did the giraffe evolve such a long neck, which, despite its length, has only seven vertebrae? It's small wonder this creature has the highest blood pressure of any animal, as its heart must pump blood around its towering body at a terrifically fast rate. The team also finds out how the animal developed such a thick skin and complex circulation system.
5) Lions and tigers - The experts dissect a lion and tiger, finding out exactly what makes them such powerful killing machines, and examining the lion's voice box to discover the secret of its roar.
6) Racehorse - Exploration of how a thoroughbred racehorse is biologically engineered for speed; includes a dissection. Also how a champion is produced and the programme investigates the science behind their performance and how they are vulnerable to injury.
7) Whale - Experts dissect a 65-foot, 60-ton fin whale that was stranded in Ireland to determine why the animal died and explore its extraordinary anatomy and evolution.
