Remembering Hecuba - expectations of vengeance in Hamlet.
The author reveals how very important Euripedes' character Hecuba is to the whole idea of Shakespeare's play, giving us a model of vengeance that Shakespeare sabotages, ironically adopting a very European move in doing so.
