In 'Mathilde Speaking' (an EMC publication), the language development of a little girl was charted from the age of 12 months to two-and-a-half-years. Now a new video publication shows her at the ages of four, five and seven, and provides a glimpse of her developing reading and writing skills, as well as talking and playing with her cousins, Alison Ross gives a flavour of the issues and insights that emerge from watching Mathildea's developing lanaguage.
