The forgotten frontline.
BBC social affairs corespondent Alison Holt reports in this Panorama special on the unfolding tragedy in care homes as they struggle to protect residents against Covid-19. Cameras follow events over several months in two very different care homes and reveal the dedication of care staff, the frustration of managers and the heartache as lives are lost. Holt asks if care homes were abandoned to fight the virus alone as more than 20,000 residents and care workers across the county died from its effects.
