If life exists elsewhere in the Solar System, one of the most likely places is Europa. The ocean thought to exist beneath the icy surface of Jupiter's moon might just harbour the conditions necessary for life - as we know it - to establish itself. That's how NASA is preparing to launch the Clipper mission: to see if the gas giant's companion does indeed have the right stuff to host life.
