The attempts of Ben Mee, a DIY expert with no previous experience of
managing a zoo, to save Dartmoor Wildlife Park and reopen it to the public. Tonight,
the escape of a wolf highlights the need for repairs, and things go from bad to
worse when a jaguar jumps into the Siberian tiger enclosure: Ben has just moments
to prevent a bloody catfight.

Tonight, the DIY expert deals with infighting in the wolf pack, a rat
infestation, hostility between two Siberian tigers, and Basil the coati-mundi,
who has a delicate infection. Then spring brings terrible news.

It's June, and with the government inspector due, the maintenance team
work round the clock. Kelly finds blood on the floor of the monkey enclosure and
the llama badly needs a haircut. If the zoo fails its inspection, all efforts
will have been for nothing.

After ten months of hard work, Dartmoor Zoo finally
opens to the public in July. On a visit to Whipsnade Zoo, Ben gets up close to
some of the big game and finds out if he can ever bring giraffes to Dartmoor.
Meanwhile, an international dentist discovers that European brown bear Fudge has
a life-threatening infection and is forced to remove five of his teeth. The vet
is then called back when Fudge still hasn't come round 14 hours after the anaesthetic.
