In 1978, Raymond Briggs picked up his coloured pencils and created The Snowman, the timeless - and wordless - story of the friendship between a boy and a snowman. During a career spanning five decades, he also produced the odious Fungus the Bogeyman, the apocalyptic When the wind blows and the poignant tale of his own parents, Ethel & Ernest. In this portrait of the author and illustrator, Briggs reflects on his work.
