The Authoritarian Personality is the name of an influential book written by Theodore W. Adorno and colleagues (1950). The book aimed to explain the conditions that allowed the fascist, Nazi movement to gain power in Europe. It described the research study on which the theory was based and explained the authoritarian personality type.
